The Bechuanaland Territory is a territory under South African administration located in Southern Africa, in the former British protectorate of the same name. It borders South Africa to the south, South West Africa to the west, Portuguese Angola to the northwest, Northern Rhodesia to the northeast and Southern Rhodesia to the east.

Bechuanaland exists as an extension of South Africa itself with the arrival of Afrikaner settlers in the area to bring it closer to their home.
