Miguel Serrano is a Chilean diplomat, writer and occultist.

Inscrutable characters are often drawn to the Exile's horizons, but few are as enigmatic as Miguel Serrano. The orphan of a wealthy family, Serrano was quickly immersed in radical politics, once flirting with Marxism before turning sharply during the war, as he watched fascist conquests with keen interest. He joined Chile's diplomatic corps and traveled to India as part of a delegation, developing a life-long fascination with Hinduism. It was Serrano's work in the diplomatic service that brought him to Antarctica.

Few bother reading his rambling literature, let alone care to understand it. A cloud of rumors trails behind as this bizarre presence travels back and forth dark waters, representing Captain Merino's vision for Antarctica abroad. Some say he belongs more in a kooky German university, or in an insane asylum… but if his skills are useful to Merino, it seems Miguel Serrano is here to stay.
