Sergei Bunyachenko
Sergei Kuzmich Bunyachenko (born 5th October 1902) is a Russian military officer affiliated with the Committee for the Liberation of the Peoples of Russia in Samara, and a candidate to succeed Andrey Vlasov.
Biography
Service in the Red Army
Sergei Bunyachenko had been a loyal Red Army officer since the age of sixteen, having served valiantly in the Russian Civil War despite his Ukrainian background. He became a prominent general in the Caucasus during the Great Patriotic War, which made him the perfect scapegoat for many of the Red Army's failures, even if he was not the one to blame. After a brave counterattack against the German forces, he got captured and was sent to a penal colony where he stayed until the West Russian War.
Defection to Andrey Vlasov
Having lost all faith in the Red Army, Bunyachenko accepted to join forces with Andrey Vlasov in order to stop the advance of the West Russian Revolutionary Front during the war. After the collapse of the WRRF and the establishment of the Committee for the Liberation of the Peoples of Russia in Samara, Bunyachenko helped Vlasov build the new warlord state, playing a key role in establishing the Armed Forces of the Committee for the Liberation of the Peoples of Russia and the administration of the region.
Involvement
Bunyachenko is one of the three possible successors of Vlasov, the others being Miletiy Zykov and Vladimir Artsezo. As such, he has to deal with the morale of civilians and the military, as well as the corruption within the state and the shortage of officers. If the loyalty of the army is too low by the time he has united western Russia, he can get overthrown by Artsezo.
His path will mainly focus on strengthening Russia's industry and military, while not completely neglecting civilian needs. As detailed in the "nation of fire and steel" event, Bunyachenko's Russian Republic is one of constant betterment, everyone that can work is employed in one of the many steel factories, while those that can't are given the best care the state can provide.
On top of the aforementioned corruption and morale mechanics, he gets the "Kombinats" modifier after completing the economic branch of the focus tree, which allows him to pick some buffs at the cost of some debuffs, ranging from factory efficiency to decreased/increased political power gain.
The massive buffs to industry and military Bunyachenko's Samara can get makes his path one of the easiest in the game, at least in the post-regional stage.
Quote upon unification
"Do not drop from your hands the arms you have received, fight with the enemies of the people. You are being expected by the tortured peoples of Russia. Liberate them!"
—Andrey Vlasov
