The United Partisan Organization is a partisan organization, led by Abba Kovner, operating within Reichskommissariat Ostland.
History
In 1942, as an influential man in the Vilna Ghetto, Abba Kovner became one of the first to correctly determine the sum of German antisemitism: the total annihilation of Europe's Jews. Kovner refused to go quietly into the night and instead led his young partisan group into the forests outside of Vilna - calling themselves the Nokmim, the Avengers.
The UPO first grew by destroying the rival LLS and EP partisan groups. Afterwards Kovner became one of the first partisan to begin filling his ranks with former slaves and concentration camp survivors, rescuing hundreds in several large assaults on camps and train lines.
