Erich Koch (born 19th June 1896) is a German NSDAP politician and Reichskommissar of Ukraine.

History

Early-life

Erich Koch was born in 1896. He served as a soldier in WWI and joined a Freikorps unit during the tumultuous years of the Weimar Republic. He joined the NSDAP in 1922 and was a supporter of the left wing of the party lead by Gregor Strasser.

Political career

Koch became Gauleiter of East Prussia in 1928, and served in several roles in the province. He also was appointed governor of the Białystok district following its annexation from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Ukraine

Following the invasion of Russia, Koch was appointed as Reichskommissar of Ukraine, which was one of the more important RKs, as Hitler envisioned it as being the "breadbasket of the Reich". Koch adopted a brutal rulership style, and has been known to be paranoid, that he has enemies all around him that wish to either kill him or take his place as Reichskommissar.
