Giovanni De Lorenzo (born November 29, 1907) is an Italian millitary officer.

Should the player successfully democratize Italy under he can appear under certain circumstances.
Lorenzo will coup the government on Umberto II’s orders when a leader threatens democracy.
Trivia
In real life after World War II, Giovanni headed an Italian Secret Service division, the Servizio informazioni forze armate, from 1955 to 1965, although unlike in the game, the division was more aimed at anti-communist activities. Piano Solo, the order King Umberto II gives him if PMs attempt to push the government too far in one direction, is likely a reference to a similarly named plan that would have been executed in the event of an uprising (although unlike said plan in the game, which was meant to mainly prevent the return of fascism, but can also be used in case an attempt to turn Italy communist is made. In real life, the plan was likely in case of a communist uprising that could also have been used if there was an attempt to make Italy a fascist nation again). He was promoted to Chief of General Staff of the Italian Army in 1965, but the leak of the said plan forced him to step down.
