Karl Dönitz (born 16 September 1891) is the High Commander of the Naval forces for the Greater Germanic Reich. In contrast to other naval commanders, whose loyalties lie with Speer and other contenders for power in the Reich, Dönitz politically is a stout conservative and supporter of Chief of the Nazi Party Chancellery, Martin Bormann.

Trivia

In earlier builds of the game, Dönitz was the starting leader of Reichskommissariat Mittelmeer, a massive stretch of land caused by Atlantropa drying out most of the Western Mediterranean Sea. However, it was later decided to have Atlantropa's effects scaled back, and since in the final game, what land it did open is now in the hands of the Italian Empire, the entire Reichskommissariat was scrapped.
