The Kuomintang (KMT), also referred to as the Guomindang (GMD) or the Chinese Nationalist Party, is the dominant party in China. After the Second Sino-Japanese War, Chiang Kai-Shek's Kuomintang was dismissed and replaced by the new Kuomintang created by Wang Jingwei. The current chairman is Gao Zongwu.
