Alfonso Corona del Rosal

Alfonso Jesús Corona del Rosal (born 1st July 1906) is the current President of the National Executive Committee of the Institutional Revolutionary Party in the United Mexican States having served since his inauguration in December of 1958.

Early-life

Military Career

Alfonso Corona del Rosal studied in the Heroic Military College of Mexico City managing to graduate as a calvary lieutenant at the age of 17 in 1923, the year after his graduation he would participate in the crushing of a armed movement for the first time in his life and the year after that joined the presidential guard and the garrison at the College.

In 1927 he would once again see combat in the Cristero war, every few months he was dispatched to a new battlefield in the nation from western to southern Mexico as he dealt with a mix of Cristeros, rebellious officers and rogue generals. During this period he would start writing books on military morale and would become a remarkable athlete.

In 1929 he would retire from combat to be sent to UNAM as a teacher, from there he would spend a few years in the university until his entrance into politics.

Political Career

His political career would begin in 1938, as he was appointed the representative of the military schools and the 1st Military Zone to the assembly that would establish the PRM, months after this the same assembly would appoint him to be sub-chief of the Secretary of Military Action. His initiative would see the creation of multiple military, social and economic organizations in the new born party.

During the campaign of General Camacho to the presidency he would be a member of the committee for propaganda presided by future president Miguel Aleman and whose treasurer was future president Adolfo Ruiz Cortines, after Camacho assumed the presidency Del Rosal would serve in numerous positions in the Federal District, including as Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare and as secretary of the Regent of the Federal District Javier Rojo Gomez.

During this period he was elected as a congressman to the Chamber of Deputies during the years 1940-1943, the legislature after that he was appointed as senator from 1946-1952, during the Ruiz Cortines Administration his old friend would appoint him as head of the Military Bank and would have him be promoted to General in the Armed Forces, by 1957 he would be elected as governor of his home state of Hidalgo, and in a final career move would achieve the highest position in the PRI in 1958, as President of the National Executive Committee of the party under the presidency of Adolfo López Mateos, ever since acting as one of his strongest allies and supporters.

In game role

Del Rosal is a powerful ally of Gustavo Díaz Ordaz and will support his bid for the presidency, during the Mateos presidency he works in the background to strengthen PRI institutions and forge a front against the rise of the Alemanistas in the PRI during the Kabuki Effect.
