In real life, Stauffenberg is best known for his involvement in the 20th July Plot, an attempt in the latter half of World War 2 to assassinate Hitler that ultimately failed (other participants in the plot included Hans Speidel and Henning von Tresckow).
Due to a developer oversight, despite siding with Martin Bormann in the German Civil War, earlier versions of the game would have events that play after Albert Speer wins the War feature Stauffenberg in roles. This was later corrected so that the aforementioned von Tresckow (who sided with Speer in the Civil War) replaces Stauffenberg (although Stauffenberg is still available to use if Speer wins the Civil War).
