George S. Patton (born November 11, 1885) was a general of the United States Army who participated in World War II. During the 1948 election (without being a nominee), he surprisingly received 3 electoral votes from faithless electors which explained a public dissatisfaction with the Establishment. Patton became the presidential candidate for the Nationalist Party (which would become apart of the National Progressive Pact in the future) in the 1952 election. However, he lost to the incumbent, former comrade-in-arms Dwight D. Eisenhower. He retired from all his military and public positions after the loss.
