Helmut Schmidt (born 23rd December 1918) is a German politician and a prominent member of the Inner Circle, a dissident faction of the National Socialist German Workers' Party seeking to dismantle Nazi rule and bring back democracy. When Albert Speer becomes Führer, he gets appointed Reichsminister of Foreign Affairs, becoming a member of the Gang of Four. He is a supporter of close ties with the United States against the Empire of Japan.

In-game

Schmidt is considered to be the most important person in the Gang of Four. When Speer is dealing with Poland, Schmidt wants to make peace with them. If his proposal is successful, Poland becomes a self-ruling satellite state of Germany and joins the Einheitspakt.

If Speer becomes a puppet of the Gang of Four, he's most angered at Schmidt, "the collapse of the Aryan man". If Speer consolidates power, he defangs Schmidt by appointing Martin Mussgnug his 'co-minister'.
