Henry Martin "Scoop" Jackson (born 31st May 1912) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the junior United States senator for Washington, and leader of the Progressive Party.

Post-war (1946-present)

Upon reviving the old Progressive Party during the 1956 presidential election, he ran for the senator seat for Washington which he won eventually. When the Nationalist Party and Progressive Party realized, if they wanted to vanquish the Establishment, they needed to work together, and formed a coalition called National Progressive Pact.

With a compromise within the NPP Jackson became the candidate for the 1960 presidential election to challenge Richard Nixon, the newly formed Republican-Democratic Coalition nominee. After his defeat, he turned his head towards the Civil Rights Movement, but unpopularly trying to make peace with the anti-civil right officials making the Progressives unhappy.

In-game

With his popularity the National Progressive Pact nominate another candidate (George Wallace or Robert F. Kennedy) for the 1964 presidential election in response to what Nixon will be doing with the Civil Rights Act.

Jackson can run for presidency again in 1972.
