In-game
Hermann Fegelein will only show up if Reinhard Heydrich wins the German Civil War, leading one of the many small breakaway states from Germany after Heydrich's betrayal of Himmler becomes well-known.
Trivia
- Much like Felix Steiner, Hermann Fegelein's appearance in Heydrich's Germany is a reference to one of the scenes from Downfall - namely, the scene where Otto Gunsche informs Adolf Hitler that Fegelein has deserted (which, similar to the scene that provides the name for Steiner's nation, has been parodied numerous times online, as seen here). This is most prevalent in the name of the first focus Heydrich has to interact with Fegelein, named "Fegelein, Fegelein, Fegelein..." (the last line Hitler has in said scene). Similarly, if the player chooses the "An Appeal To Degeneracy" focus, which has Fegelein sell Himmler out, in the focus that immediately follows it, "Dealing With Degeneracy," Heydrich will have Fegelein executed, similar to his fate in Downfall and real life.
- Fegelein was the brother-in-law of Eva Braun, Hitler's wife, through Eva's sister, Gretl. It's unknown if he is still married to Gretl in The New Order, given that in real life, Gretl died in 1987.
