In real life, Agnew was the vice president of Richard Nixon instead of John F. Kennedy (as Nixon served from 1968-1974). Due to pleading guilty to tax evasion, Agnew resigned before the Watergate scandal occurred, and as such, Gerald Ford became president instead.
