Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic is a country located on the eastern part of the island of Hispaniola in the Greater Antilles of the Caribbean Sea in the North Atlantic Ocean. The Dominican Republic only has a land border with Haiti to the west and a maritime border with the United States to the east. It is led by fascist dictator Rafael Trujillo and a close ally of the Iberian Union, a co-leader of the Triumvirate.
History
In 1936 Rafael Trujillo renamed Santo Domingo to Ciudad Trujillo to honor himself.
By the 1950s the Dominican Republic invaded Haiti and occupied Hinche, this led to the United States trying to assassinate Rafael Trujillo multiple times.
Involvement
In April 1963, the Caribbean Legion, with the backing of the United States, Mexico and Cuba, will launch the Puerto Plata Invasion, for the purpose of toppling the Trujillo regime. In response, the Dominican Republic is supported by Germany, the Iberian Union and the Condor Legion from Paraguay. The Puerto Plata Invasion can end in four outcomes.
Fascist Dominican Republic Path
If Rafael Trujillo wins, he will rule the Dominican Republic until his natural death, and invade Haiti if the Haitian Revolutionary Front takes over. If the Haitian Blitz is successful, the Dominican Republic will annex Haiti and become known as Santo Domingo. If the invasion drags long enough, Haiti will offer the Dominican Republic a ceasefire, with Hinche remaining in the hands of whichever controls it at the end of the war. If the ceasefire is refused, the Organization of Free Nations will invade and occupy the Dominican Republic.
