The Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic is an independent Soviet remnant state in Central Asia. It is bordered by the Kingdom of Afghanistan to the south, the Xinjiang Clique to the east, Kyrgyzstan to the north, the People's Republic of Uzbekistan and the Turkestan Legion to the west.

Tajikistan is one of the few remaining Soviet remnant states in Central Asia along with Kyzylorda. The Tajik government is a direct continuation of the former Soviet government. The Tajik foreign policy is based on surviving until a restored Soviet Union restores order to Central Asia. This is threatened by Mawlawi Hindustoni's Islamic Renaissance Party, whose forces aim to create an Islamic state.
