Chita, officially the Transbaikal Principality, is a warlord state in the Far East. It borders Amur to the east, Yakutia to the north, Buryatia to the east, and Manchukuo and Mengjiang to the south. The current leader is Tsar Mikhail II.

The country is one of the three warlord states which are composed of the remainders of the White Army and claim themselves "The True Heirs of Harbin", the other two being Amur and Magadan.

History

When the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics collapsed, a united front was founded by the remnants of White Army and the Russian Fascist Party in hopes of establishing a White Russia. However, the front eventually ended in infighting. Then Ataman Grigory Semyonov, who was a former White Army Leader, decided to act. He forced Prince Mikhail Andreevich Romanov, the descendant of Tsar Nicolas I, to assume the throne at the Siberian city of Chita, and used his clique to create a government.

In the aftermath of the Russian Civil War, the remainder of the White Army retreated into Harbin, exiled against their will. Nursing their wounds, they plotted for the overthrow of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. At the same time, however, a new movement coalesced in Harbin: fascism. Under the lead of Rodzaevsky and Matkovsky, the Russian Fascist Party became the premier party of Russian emigres. During the collapse of the Union, the Whites and the RFP formed a united front against the Bolsheviks. For a time, they were successful - until infighting split them from one another. Now the three splinters vie for power, each claiming to be the rightful heir of Harbin.

All hail Tsar Mikhail II! Emperor of all Russias and Imperious Autocrat by the Grace of God! These are among the shouts of praise that ring out from the capital at Chita for the Puppet Tsar. But the stark actuality of the situation is that the autocrat couldn't be more discontent - essentially kidnapped and forced to assume the throne amid bickering and aging White officer cliques. Mikhail wishes for little more that to see his home again, far away from Russia.

One of the most unfortunate realities of our situation is that currently our leadership consists of aging White generals who seem more at home reminiscing about the Civil War than leading a White Russia into the future. Worse still, the vast majority of our leaders seem to be slowly fading away. On top of that, we've had a hard time attracting any younger people to our cause - it's rumored that a great many of them are liberals, fundamentally opposed to our vision.
