The Oriental Government Commission, usually known under the synecdoche Santa Cruz, is an unrecognised state supported by the Republic of Paraguay, which claims to be the legitimate government of the Santa Cruz Department of the Republic of Bolivia. Its separation is justified by the supposed racial superiority of the local whites.
Santa Cruz will inevitably come into conflict with the La Paz government, seeking to reunify the country under its own ideology.
